A lively and modern village at the North of Mauritius; the place to enjoy an afternoon stroll in the beautiful Sunset Boulevard, with its palm trees on the road and cabana-like shops. Planned around the bay and its small port, Grand Baie offers plenty of bars and restaurants to watch the sun slip away. Nightclubs are visited by tourists and locals, although the ambiance is “spring-breaker” rather than authentic. The boats in the bay are a visual pleasure, and the benches spread around the beach are perfect spots to grab a glimpse of the fishermen’s catch with a fresh coconut on hand.
